Walker's Pub & Coffee

This is the Walker's Pub & Coffee, a rustic little coffee shop in the middle of downtown Athens. I thought that the woody background went very well with the sign, creating an "outdoorsy" effect.

Okay, so this sign is all over the UGA football stadium. You wanna know what is stands for: Get After Their Asses. Awesome, right?

Cookout

The cookout yesterday was very fun! We had a lot of activities to do such as: volleyball, football, soccer, and some type of shooting game with toy guns. The food was very good as well, we had burgers, hotdogs, pasta salad, and chips. I just ate the hotdog and pasta salad, because I was already full. After, all of the activites we watched "School of Rock," but I didn't want to watch all of it because I wanted to see the Celtics beat the Lakers. However, overall the cookout was a success!!

The front part of the stadium caught my attention so i decided to take a picture

i noticed a bicyclist riding past during our first day of camp and attempted to capture him on film, but to my luck a tree proved to be in the way of the shot. despite this, i find how the shadows and light fall on the wall to be very intriguing...

So, this is Alexis and I, upset and all alone.

i love this photo of alexis's foot not only because she has the most adorable shoes EVER, but also because of the contrast that occurs between the yellow of the street lines with the dark brown of her shoe.

Today during the stadium tour i saw the perfect opportunity to take a picture of the stadium, so i did. It looks like a never ending staircase.

I happened to take this picture right as the door was open so you can see the sign on the door as well as the one hanging from the ceiling outside. There was a guy who took one step outside and saw all of us taking pictures, and then mumbled to himself and ran back inside.

This was a smaller movie theater in downtown athens that had a really big and bright sign to grab the attention of people. I wanted to take this picture because I thought the angle from below would look unique.

So this here is Sarah. And Sarah is an angel, apparently. I mean, doesn't this just look cool. It sucks, because all I can make is a bunny rabbit

Drinkin Around the Corona Tree

Okay, so these boxes of Corona were thrown around a tree in downtown Athens. Maybe its symbolic. Or they're just too lazy to take out the trash. But whatever the case may be, I thought it was kinda cool.

Athens @ Night

Last night our class went to downtown Athens at nightime and it was waaaaaay better than the day time, because the weird people came out. We were taking pictures of trash on the ground, each other, musicians, and a homeless man. Some people were looking at us like we were absolutely crazy for some strange reason????? I interviewed these two guys who were in front of Starbucks; one was a musician and the other was a retired veteran..they were real cool. I also interviewed a old homeless man playing the guitar and harmonica at the same time. He was kind of hard to interview because he talked super fast. However, we had a great time last night! :) :)

A Smokin Movie

So this is the Georgia Theater that was recently burnt to a crisp by a fire. I took a picture because, well, it just looked cool. I think that's the best reason to take a picture anyway...

Sesame Seeds?????

Okay, so today my friends and I went to downtown Athens to go shopping. This is my burger from The Grill. Crap, it's out of focus except for the sesame seeds. I guess just enjoy the sharpness of the sesame seeds. *sigh*

This here, is Kimberly. She was searching for something inher bag while i was testing out my lighting before we took pictures at the botanical gardens. I think it turned out to be a pretty good picture. She does look a little annoyed, but I like it.

Downtown Athens!!!!

This afternoon we went to Downtown Athens;It wasn't like Downtown Atlanta at all. We were in a group of like 8 or 9 people. The first thing we did was go shopping, which took forever to do cause no one knew what they wanted to get or they were trying on outfits...:) One of my favorite things about downtown Athens was the music! I saw an older gentleman playing the flute, and another guy playing the musical number Bach No.1 on the violin. Afterwards, we went to eat at Mellow Mushrooms (pizza place) we all got the lunch special because it was way cheaper than the other items on the menu. Our waitress was sooooooooooo nice, you could tell that she works hard. She was a 20 year old student here at UGA going in her 3rd year in August which is GREAT! After we left we went to Junkman's Daughter which is a store in Athens! I bought a Brazil shirt, because I always wanted one...plus Im cheering for them during the WORLD CUP!!! Another cool thing I saw in there was a shirt that I should have got for $10..and Im gonna post the pic up..lol!!

Sunshine

I was taking pictures outside when came across a flower bed of just these yellow flowers. I tried to find the perfect one and came across this one. Absolute perfection. To me, of course. What makes this better is there is a bug on the top left part of the flower. It's small (like all insects), but it's visable. I love taking pictures of flowers. when you get the perfect one, it can turn out to be an amazing photograph.

Rain Drops are falling on my head

I manually focused this (which is a very irritating process) in order to get the rain drops in perfect focus... I think this picture is very calming and makes me think of rainbows and ponies.

bike rack

I have never seen anything like this so it was necessary to whip out my camera and take a picture of it. It is the most unique bike rack I have ever seen and the colors are very bright and noticeable.

rompers are in style

Amanda models a romper that was being sold at a boutique that is called The Red Dress in downtown Athens.

There was this plastic model near a sale sign and I had to take the picture. The green door helps bring more attention to the model's dress.
